Too often legal fees are the reason why clients do not obtain advice, that’s why we offer fixed fee options.
Litigation and Disputes
We explore offering every client a fixed fee option, even for some litigation matters.
Our Fixed Fee options includes a fixed monthly retainer, which includes the general legal work such as phone calls, letters and emails between us and you, us and the other party (or their lawyers), and where we need to write to other third parties such as the court.
Litigation has too many variables for us to agree a one-off fixed fee which would be reasonable under all circumstances. So we set fixed fees for events such as preparing for and attending court events or mediation, subpoenas, attending conferences, briefing Counsel, instructing witnesses, and other events. If one of these steps is required, you’ll have our fixed fee for it from day one, so you can still estimate and plan your budget.
While we believe our fee options are excellent value for money, it is important to understand that fixed fee does not mean ‘cheap’ and does not mean ‘cutting corners’.
If you choose for us to bill you on the old ‘hourly rate’, we can offer that. If you do, we use a 2-minute unit rather than the industry standard 6-minute unit. This means you don’t get charged for time we don’t spend working on your file.
We continue to offer fixed fees for legal transaction work:
- Family Law – Applications for Consent Orders;
- Divorce Applications;
- Solicitor Certificates of Independent Legal Advice;
- Wills & Powers of Attorney
- Probate Applications
- Commercial Leasing
- Purchase and Sale of Businesses
- Agreements (Shareholder/Loan/Co-ownership)
All new matters require an initial consultation. These are offered at $99 (GST Incl). Please see our Initial Consultation Terms & Conditions for more information.
Each new matter receives one discounted initial consultation; future appointments will be charged at our usual hourly rate or be part of an agreed fixed fee.
